Lynne Ramsay Developing Vampire Film That Will Reunite The ‘Die, My Love’ Director With Ezra Miller

British writer/director Lynne Ramsay is coming off some early buzz for her new film “Die, My Love” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, after the movie earned great reactions/reviews at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this month. She’s now teasing a more genre-centric project being in the works.

We often think of Ramsay for wading into dark subject matter, and it sounds like she is itching to jump into the supernatural horror genre in the not-too-distant future. While speaking with the Los Angeles Times, the director teased that she is currently developing a vampire film that will see her reunite with “We Need To Talk About Kevin” actor Ezra Miller after being asked if she wanted to pursue a horror film in the future.

“I’m making a vampire movie…I can’t tell you much. It’s with Ezra Miller, who was in [‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’]. He’s the main character. That’s in development,” Ramsay said of horror flick link-up with Miller.

Miller’s role in that family thriller was that of a spoiled sociopathic teenager who increasingly becomes more dangerous and goes on to commit horrible violence against classmates, echoing the very grim school shooter era in America.

The reunion might have some scratching their heads after Miller saw a career fallout for a wave of bizarre and illegal off-set behavior (burglary and assaults) alongside equally troubling allegations involving minors. In the wake of all that, their working relationship with Warner Bros. was severed after the studio hit the reset/reboot button for both DC Comics and “Harry Potter” franchises, essentially ending Miller’s participation.

Then again, Miller, who has been keeping a low profile for a while now, was spotted at Cannes walking on the “Die, My Love” red carpet.

We currently don’t have character or plot details for the vampire project, including if it’ll be another period piece similar to Robert Eggers‘ recent “Nosferatu” remake or something a little more contemporary. However, we suspect that the more press Ramsay does throughout the year for “Die, My Love,” we’ll likely learn much more.
